Will my Waste Management General Waste and Garden Waste residential wheelie bin still be collected during the LEVEL 4 shutdown period?
Yes. Waste collection is an essential service and we will be operating during the shutdown period. However, there may be some collection delays due to COVID-19 restrictions. If your bin is not collected at the normal time, please leave it kerbside and we will get to it as soon as possible.

Should I continue to recycle?
Please continue to put waste and recycling into the correct bins on the normal days so we can continue to collect it as quickly as possible for you.

Can I go to my local transfer station?
No. All transfer stations are closed to the public until further notice.

Can I still order a skip online?

No. If you require a skip as an essential service, please call 0800 10 10 10.

Can I still have my FlexiBin collected?

No. If you require a FlexiBin removed as an essential service, please call 0800 10 10 10.

Are you still signing up wheelie bin customers and delivering bins?

Yes, waste services are an essential service during COVID-19 Alert Level 4.

Why aren’t you still doing on-property collections?

During COVID-19 Alert Level 4 we need to keep our team safe. Going onto a customer’s property may place or team within close contact, which we need to avoid at this time.

Why can’t I buy a FlexiBin on your website and have it delivered?

Unfortunately, during COVID-19 Alert Level 4 stores that stock FleixBins are closed to the public.

What do I do if I need to have some waste removed from my house and it doesn’t fit in my wheelie bin?

We can provide an additional wheelie bin for your house. Click here to see if we can provide a service in your area.

In some places you are taking recycling straight to landfill – why are you doing this?

During COVID-19 Alert Level 4 we have had to close many of our hand sorting recycling facilities and provide only essential waste services. Sorting recycling was not seen as an essential part of waste services. This means we have no other option but to take recycling material to landfill.

I just saw one of your trucks deliver a skip bin to a neighbour, are you allowed to do this?

Any skip services being provided have been determined by us to be an essential service. They must be verified by us before we will provide the service, in line with the government’s on the COVID-19 website (click here).
